Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Over the weekend I finally had my car dyno’d. I’ve been satisfied with the mild modifications and tune but I wanted to see some numbers on paper. That paper now proves (I am not the father) the Si looks faster than it is. My car was considerably quieter than everyone else at the Dyno day event except for a bone stock GSR Integra.

Would anyone want to guess the numbers for my Civic? All I will say is basic bolt on parts, a tune and I still have my cat.

Edit: The numbers are 193 hp and 144 tq.

Now with Dyno sheet

1 unit of power and one unit of torque, both normalized to your car’s output.

It's more along the lines of 3/4 a unit of torque to one of horsepower.

I meant as independent quantities. But the civic’s power sounds depressing in comparison to all of the monsters coming from other parts of the world.

I’m going to go with 0 rwhp (unadjusted). Atmospheric corrections would take it negative, with torque somewhere below that.

like the mugen kit ... couldn’t have been easy or cheap to do, I heard you had to get a Mugen Si VIN number before you could get any Mugen Si parts?

You’re too kind with the torque figure.

Thank you it was not the easiest. Half of it I bought used and the rest I bought new from Honda with the occasional small discount. The wheels are the easiest to find but prices are all over the place.

Not bad for a little 2.0. That’s stockish Foxbody territory (power wise) and those have two and a half times the displacement. I’ve driven a Mugen Civic and it was a blast. It was almost as much fun as my bolt on LS1.

This makes me feel great about my 22 year old wagon. (Not that Im knocking your civic, its all relative really)

Also props for the 4 door.

Thanks. I’ve always thought sedans made more sense for everyday cars.

What’s the wagon? Are you sure all your horses are in the stable?

Sedans are only second to wagons. Also Ive always thought the si was the perfect commuter car for the enthusiast.

Well, Im told that the turbo uses 25psi of witchcraft to makes sure they stay in the stable. ‘95 S6

Underrated power of German witchcraft even. Those turbo 5s seem to make the power right where you need it and the sound that asks you to bury the pedal.

Its like a pair of titties begging to be milked... 3.7k is when the magic starts. Very much a D-bag car, super unassuming, quite quick, even for a stock turbo. Dive by wire with no traction control.

One day I’ll slide in something bigger, its just not a priority now (plus its fast enough).

Somewhat. I have an H23 VTEC with I/H/E and stiffer mounts. I’m in the mid 180s as it is now, but I've seen these engines break 200 at the wheels with bolt-ons and a tune.

That’s good numbers. A little more displacement can make a difference.

I don’t have a header, just intake, exhaust, throttle body and tune.

My header isn't great, a DC that was on the car when I bought it. I have a brand new Vibrant header for it, but it needs some fab work to bolt onto a Prelude. There was a group buy last year, and the people doing it conveniently didn't mention the header was only plug and play for H2B cars until they'd already made them and shipped them. I'll have it installed sometime before inspection runs out in October, because I need a new cat anyway.
